Garden Fountains FAQs

What are some examples of garden themes, and how are these themes created?

There are multitudes of garden theme possibilities, and the theme you choose might be specific to your personality. However, some popular options include a barnyard theme, or mimicking a historical theme such as found in Japanese or Mediterranean gardens. In the case of the barnyard theme, for example, this can be created by using country plants such as sunflowers and hollyhocks. You also might incorporate rustic items such as troughs, benches, and old farm tools into the landscape of the garden. Some people even go so far as to have a country wagon filled with marigolds. You have many options available that can help create a distinctive feel and effect.

Historically, what is the meaning of the garden statue?

Some people choose garden statues that have a deep and personal religious or spiritual meaning. Examples of these statues include saints, deities, as well as mythological figures. For many people, the garden is already a spiritual kind of place, imbued with many of the best qualities of life. Even the garden gnome has some history behind it, as it is said to ward off mischief makers that were once superstitiously thought to inhabit garden spaces at night.

What steps do I need to take as I’m planning my garden?

It all depends on the kind of garden you will be growing. First of all you will need to determine what you want to grow. If it’s primarily plants and vegetables, you will want to choose a place that gets as much sunlight as possible. With flowers, however, it will depend on the type of flower you want to grow how much sunlight you need. Some flowers even grow best in full shade.

After you’ve found the place and determined what you want to grow, you’ll need to ready the soil. A tiller is the easiest way to do this. These are motorized and open the ground up, which loosens the dirt and makes it possible for roots to take hold. Tilling also uproots weeds in the area. Once the soil is prepared and weeds have been taken out, you’re ready to get started planting.
