Garden Pond

Often, though not always, the garden pond corresponds with the garden fountain. This, anyway, is one popular option—though of course it is also possible to have a pond without a fountain. The garden pond provides your garden with a new aesthetic dimension, the reflective quality of water, and potentially the scintillating color of fish as well.

Generally people invest in a garden pond because they want to have fish in the garden—though this is not always the case. If you do want fish you have the option of choosing a uniform species, or an assortment of different kinds of fish. Even more than with garden sculptures, fish add an element of life to your garden that is not attainable any other way.

Typically when people talk about the garden pond they mean one that has been installed—often they will even be made of cement and more closely resemble a swimming pool than something you would find in the mountains. However, there are some exceptions to this. Especially if you live in a wetland area, some people choose to leave a designated, natural pond section in their lawn or property.
