The water garden has been around for a long time, and in fact has been important throughout Chinese and European history; however, it has become popular for personal use only in recent years. Typically the water garden will require a pond with aquatic plants and fish that are usually chosen because of the specific look that they provide.

You have the option of selecting fixed items such as rocks, fountains, and even waterfalls, in addition to choosing the kinds of plants and the breed of fish you will stock to the pond with. Additionally, you have a say in how these plants will be positioned.

Especially if you have a good amount of space on your property, a water garden can provide a peaceful sanctuary. It is also possible to create a kind of hybrid garden, which features elements of a more traditional land garden and a water garden both. It just depends on your preferences and what you want to accomplish.
